The 15th Hong Kong International Spring Lighting Fair

The inaugural Smart Lighting Expo and Spring Lantern Exhibition kicked off today, bringing together over 1,300 global exhibitors to showcase a diverse range of intelligent development trends. The inaugural Smart Lighting Expo and the 15th Hong Kong International Spring Lighting Fair will run for four consecutive days starting today, with the theme “Innovative Lighting, Smart Living,” featuring over 1,300 exhibitors.

The Smart Lighting Expo has attracted important lighting industry base cities from the Greater Bay Area, including exhibition groups from Foshan, Zhongshan, and Jianghai District in Jiangmen City. The Spring Lantern Exhibition features exhibition groups from Jiangsu Province and Xiamen City.

The “Smart Lighting Solutions Forum” will be held tomorrow to discuss the application of technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and smart home systems in smart lighting products.

April 6, 2024 – The inaugural Smart Lighting Expo and the 15th Hong Kong International Spring Lighting Fair, organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), will be held for four days from today (April 6 to 9) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center in Wan Chai, kicking off the HKTDC’s four major spring technology exhibitions.

Ms. Margaret Fong, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC, stated, “As one of the partner events of the International Innovation and Technology Business Week (BITWeek), the inaugural Smart Lighting Expo and the 15th Hong Kong International Spring Lighting Fair, under the theme ‘Innovative Lighting, Smart Living,’ bring together over 1,300 exhibitors showcasing a range of innovative lighting products and technologies, including sustainable lighting, human-centric lighting, and fashionable lighting fixtures, presenting diverse development trends. The two lighting exhibitions are committed to providing an ideal platform for buyers to meet the evolving market demands.”

Smart lighting products are expected to be a major growth engine for the industry. According to Statista, the global smart lighting market is projected to increase from $8.1 billion in 2020 to $25.3 billion this year. A survey conducted by the HKTDC last year among exhibitors and buyers participating in the Hong Kong International Autumn Lighting Fair and the Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Lighting Expo found that 41% of respondents expect an increase in lighting market sales this year. Additionally, 30% of respondents believe that smart lighting products and solutions will be a major growth engine for the industry.

To help companies seize the growth opportunities in the smart lighting supply chain, the “Interconnected and Smart Lighting” exhibition area, well-received at the Spring Lantern Exhibition, has been independently established this year as the “Smart Lighting Expo.” The Expo showcases a range of products and solutions, including interconnected lighting technologies such as chips, sensors, LED drivers, IoT lighting platforms, as well as smart lighting products and solutions like smart control systems and dimmers, smart luminaires, lighting applications and systems, among others.

The Smart Lighting Expo has collaborated with the Shanghai Pudong Intelligent Lighting Association to establish the “Smart Ecosystem and IoT Supply Chain Showcase Area,” featuring the latest lighting solutions from several renowned brands including Midea, Shengrui Technology, Mairui Intelligent, Yunfan Ruida, and the DALI Alliance. Other notable brands such as Helvar, Valta, Hangzhou Tiandu Lighting, and Minbao Optoelectronics are also making appearances at the exhibition.

The Smart Lighting Expo has also invited important lighting industry base cities from the Greater Bay Area to participate, including exhibition groups from Foshan, Zhongshan, and Jianghai District in Jiangmen City. Running concurrently with the Smart Lighting Expo, the Spring Lantern Exhibition continues to be a one-stop trading platform for a diverse range of lighting products. In addition to exhibition groups from Jiangsu Province and Xiamen City, the highlighted area “Gathering of Famous Lamps” brings together over 260 renowned brands of high-quality lighting fixtures, while other product areas include commercial lighting, decorative lighting, residential lighting, professional lighting, and lighting accessories.
